Well, Wayne...I have decided to take on the task of building my own...more personalized that way! You can see the forthcoming updates here, on Don's site!

I think the point of his question is to find out if anybody who ordered a buildup from Masterpiece Models has received his. Not everyone is a kit builder.

I hear many people bought the kit and so there's bound to be a number of personalized buildups that will show up sooner or later. There is already one up on this site by Scott Icard.

However, to repeat the question, has anyone who ordered the functional buildup from Masterpiece Models received his yet ???

Thank you for the insights, Eric...I was fully aware of the 'point' of questioning. I also realize that not everyone is a 'kit builder.'I just thought that I would reply to Wayne's post out of a shared general interest in the Masterpiece kit. Please excuse any transgressions which you feel I might have made in my post.

One thing for sure, those people that are not up to build models themselves certainly have more than one option as there are many fine kit builders such as you out there that offer such services.

Certainly, if Masterpiece does not do a top notch job on their buildups, people will start looking elsewhere and they may find the "Bruce version" the "better version"!

I still have two of the Masterpiece kits to build, but look forward to seing any buildups by others! I anticipate that the Masterpiece Time Machine...and this is mentioned for Wayne's sake... will be a very detailed, time consuming project... especially if the kit is animated with lights and motorized to bring it to 'life!'

Eric, thank you sincerely for your compliments. If I can do at least a job that pleases my customer, then I have achieved my goal in recreating the famous Time Machine. I am constantly studying the film and many photos I have collected of the machine from various sources. The best source, is, of course, the captured DVD images on my computer from the film, itself! They allow me to paint the model parts pretty close to the original color scheme used on the full-sized prop. This is one project I am very much looking forward to doing...and not just once, but TWICE! What a dream!!!
Wayne, may I offer the following advice...call Masterpiece Models at their telephone number and chat one on one with John Geigle (or, send them an email). He may be able to answer some of the questions you have on the progress of your own model build up.

Well, Bruce, you're too humble. It's fairly easy to be objective here. Since first posting, I have had a chance to look at pictures of your build-ups and compared them to those of Masterpiece - both on this site - and it's clear who comes out the winner !

I invite anyone to do the same as I have and draw his own conclusions !

I can't wait to see your Masterpiece buildup ! I fully expect that it will be STUNNING.
