Seems like the message board is not as active as it once had been! Where is everyone? I would imagine that once the news filters in from Masterpiece Models that we are all expecting...there will be plenty to chat about once again! All of you owners of the Masterpiece TM kit will know what I am talking about! It seems as well that some of my email buddies have slackened off lately! You guys know who you are.... get out of the time warp...let's get active and chat again! It has been too long! |

Posted At 12:46:39 01/19/2003 I'm still here Bruce! I always have a good look round Don's website when i get home from work. I've been going over the enthusiast's section, to see if there's any tips i have missed, that could be useful in scratch building my model. I'm currently building the chair! So in addition to Chris Perrotta's blue prints, i've been going over the section that deals with the Berninghaus Barber Chair. I've also been over previous updates of the finished Masterpiece chair which shows a good angled picture of the positioning of the Swan necks. The message board does seem a bit short on input of late, but i think, that's just a passing phase! I finally brought the DVD you kept on insisting i MUST have! Absolutely BRILLIANT!!! ;-))) I'll never watch the video again! It will also be invaluable for the construction of my model! I didn't buy the Masterpiece model, as all my spare time is spent trying to be as accurate as possible in scratch building my own model. I must say admit, I was, quite shocked as to the price of the Motor and light's kit! Is there any news, on the elusive part Masterpiece are trying to find to complete the motor? Anyway i look forward to seeing how you, and others build the Masterpiece Model |

Posted At 21:04:42 01/19/2003 Hello Ady... glad to see that someone is still out there in the void... Ahhh...the Masterpiece model...Yes, the price is a bit steep for the motor and light kit...more than anyone anticipated, I believe. Still, to animate the model, it appears that the owners of the kit ( like myself)will have to settle for the way things are. I fully expect that the kit (given that 'ritzy' price tag) will turn this model into the quintesential Time Machine replica, especially since Chris Perrotta, himself, helped in its creation! Though questionable in some of its component parts (the dish being an example), the model promises to be a first-class, handsome miniature replica of the original prop design! And may I ask, do you have any pictures of your progress on your 'scratch-built' version? I would love to see some of your work! |

Posted At 18:14:48 01/20/2003 Hello Bruce, Yes, I did provide MasterPiece Models with the main drawings along with many supplimental views and renderings; and yes, I did give them permission to use them, but I did not approve of, or like every detail that was shown or presented to me. The dish and the domes fall into this catagory. But, by and large, they did a good job. The "Machine" is far more to true scale and detailed than it's predecessors. MasterPiece was up against their own clocks with no REAL Time Machine to help. I would love to see the construction of one on Don's site, especially any mods done to bring it back in line. Seems like there won't be much activity on the site until someone starts posting some pics...hint...hint. Best, Chris |

Posted At 20:27:25 01/21/2003 First...Chris: Yes, I will agree! Having purchased two of these beautiful kits, and knowing 'first hand' how marvelously and meticulously detailed your blueprints are (I treasure the set I ordered from you some TIME ago), I am fully convinced that the Masterpiece model is, by far, the most accurate reproduction of the Time Machine now available! Well worth the price! The dish's outer rim is in question, as is the area of the pegs, and I did wonder about the cones... but taken into full account, the entire model is a dream come true! Masterpiece Models, with your guidance, has produced a sterling replica that I am proud to own! Once that motor/light kit becomes available, it shall fulfill a very long wish that I have had for over forty years: to own a working model of the machine! You are to be complimented in every way for your input into this ultimate collector's piece! And when I have photos available of my construction of this kit...they will be seen here, on Don's site! "Second... Francois: Patience is, by far, a virtue for many of us who have awaited the arrival of this glorious model! I believe that other modelers, like myself, have waited a long TIME! Masterpiece has paid us well for our continued dedication! Their achievement with this latest version of the classic film vehicle promises to be the crowning showpiece in my personal collection!!! "I used to dream of owning such a model when I was a boy. With the passage of youth and now aging in my fifties, I can see that dream coming true!!! My heartfelt THANKS to Chris Perrotta, John Geigle and the entire Masterpiece crew!!! They are timeless dreamcatchers!!!" Third... Ady: Please take your TIME, my friend! You will undoubtedly pursue your project to successful fruition! As Francois has pointed out.... we will strive to be patient until you can share your results! |

Posted At 13:26:15 01/22/2003 I am sorry for having been a bit too vague in my previous post. The updates I was refering to are various article in the works that will appear on Don's site in the coming weeks and months. They are not necessarily about models of the Time Machine. |

Posted At 12:51:49 01/24/2003 It is interesting to learn that updates are coming to Don's site...but, if you were not referring necessarily to the Time Machine models...then why the post and the 'insistance' to be patient? I do not believe anyone involved in this particular forum was getting inpatient. Just a thought.... Still, Francois... you do seem to have the inside track on most things that Don is planning... perhaps you could please elaborate a bit... |

Posted At 19:55:12 01/27/2003 I am sorry if I inadvertently mislead anyone when I spoke of updates without specifying that these may not all be about Time Machine models. However, some of them will be; thus, my post. I am also sorry if my comment regarding “patience being in order” may have been construed by some as implying that the people on this message board may not all be patient. It was not my intention to imply such an unconscionable thing. I simply meant, "they are coming - slowly but surely". Thus, if I offended anyone, I sincerely apologize. I am nonetheless gratified to learn that all are armed with exemplary patience. Surely, then, waiting for the updates (about models or otherwise) shall be a breeze. |

Posted At 22:18:26 01/27/2003 Well said, Francois! And when it all comes down to it, let us all not forget... we are interested in the same subject here! No offense is taken, I assure you. With Don C. and the many tidbits of TM info that he has supplied us with on his genius website, we should all be thankful for a site that offers each of us the opportunity to add to our personal collections, post our individual talents for other fans to see and to express ourselves, within reason, on one of the finest forums available anywhere for exclusive TM interests! I await in anticipation as to what will appear here in the weeks ahead! Always a vision for the future!Hmmm... much like the Time Traveler, don't you agree? |
