Make-up and Effect Labs were responsible for creating prototypes and finished pieces of armour for both the Spy and Hunter Morlocks. The crew at M.E.L. consisted of John Fifer, Scott Wolfram and myself Don Coleman. We worked under the direction of the Costume Designer Deana Appel. The following photos are of a hard urethane bust of a Spy Morlock supplied by Stan Winston Studios which was used to construct the prototype helmet. The helmet was made from wet formed leather. The leather was then textured and colored to resemble lead plate. The spine armour was made in the same fashion. The goggles pictured were constructed of copper plate and leather. |
